Peacock feathers

I have always loved the peacocks, the brilliant shades of blue and the iridescence of their feathers simply take my breath away. Reproducing those beauties are really impossible I think, but still I have so many artists do a wonderful job at capturing their beauty, and more importantly those feathers, oh, how I envy them! ;)

Well, so, I finally decided to try my hand at it, no use waiting for my skills to evolve if I dont paint at all (ha!) Here is the outcome. I have used water colours on paper (a cheap variety at it too, the paper started to loose its shape as soon as my colours touched it!That proves it - choosing lousy art material isn't the best way to learn art after all!). Barring that part, I am reasonably happy with it (it does resemble the picture that I was trying to imitate, anyways :) )
